As the new owner of Mámor Chocolates & High Tea Szalón, Melbourne’s monarchy teahouse tucked away in an unexpected pocket of Collingwood, Pastry chef Janet McKenzie is right at home, surrounded by antiques, beautiful fine china, patisseries and chocolate!

Starting her culinary journey in galleys on boats on the great barrier reef, to pastry school in Adelaide and then back to Cairns, North Queensland to an apprenticeship in patisserie with european pastry chef Heike Lauber where it provided her with every aspect in patisserie and the resolve to learn focus and precision in the fine detail of work and was encouraged to compete in Salon Culinaire, with success, and to forever strive for innovation, perfection and never ending passion of learning this craft.
